Celebrating a Milestone: Empowering Adolescents for Gender Equality in Pune

At ECF, we are thrilled to announce a huge achievement reached by our team. We have successfully collaborated with 100 schools in Pune, impacting over 8500+ adolescents through our Gender Equality Programme. This journey has been one of major learning and collaboration, enriched by the students we have had the opportunity to engage with, supported by State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institution of Education and Training (DIET).

By implementing the gender equality programme, schools can challenge stereotypes, promote inclusivity, and empower young people to recognise and address discrimination. Our designed awareness based curriculum provides education on gender issues, promotes respectful relationships, and equip students with the knowledge to navigate diverse social contexts.

“I am happy and excited  to learn about all these subjects, especially human rights. I have gathered so much valuable information like the meaning of Right to Opinion, Right to Freedom, and Right to Education. Also It’s been nice sharing what I’ve learned with my family, friends, and parents. It’s been awesome telling my family, friends, and parents what I’ve learned. Thanks a bunch for teaching us so much important things and opening up our minds”

Moreover, sustaining gender equality in schools lays the foundation for a more equitable society by nurturing future generations who value diversity. Thus, investing in the Gender Equality Programme for adolescents in schools is not only a matter of community awareness programme but also a strategic approach to fostering positive social change and building more inclusive communities.

Together, we can aim and work towards creating impactful change on a broader scale in the days ahead. Our collective thinking of gender equality is significant, and we look forward to continuing this journey of empowerment and transformation with enthusiasm.

“I am grateful for the broad knowledge imparted to me throughout these sessions, not just for myself but also for my friends. I really loved the things you presented in three days. I had some misconceptions that were cleared, and I cannot think what would have happened if they had not been cleared on time. Thank you, ECF, for bringing me on the right path”

We are proud to have positively influenced a significant number of adolescents across Pune through our Gender Equality Programme. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing team and partners. Big thanks to everyone who’s been a part of this journey with us. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our virtual supporters in bringing this initiative to fruition.

“The session effectively addressed crucial topics such as gender equality and adolescence issues. The approach towards discussing subjects was insightful and related to the students’ experiences. The session also provided  valuable insights into adolescence changes fostering understanding and acceptance. Also discussed friendship dynamics which was engaging and encouraged open dialogue among the students. They emphasised on raising awareness about gender and human rights and was commendable and empowerment for the students”
